Melisa opened the Ludeman Law Firm, LLC in 2008. She practices in the Kansas City region in several areas of law. She is licensed to practice law in the courts of Missouri by the Supreme Court of Missouri and the courts of Kansas by the Supreme Court of Kansas. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
Melisa is a member of several professional organizations, including: The American Bar Association; The Missouri Bar Association; The Kansas Bar Association; The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; and The Jackson County Bar Association. She also belongs to Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.

Melisa was a member of her law school’s Law Review as well as Case Note and Review Editor for The Urban Lawyer. In addition, she was secretary for the Black Law Students Association and she received the Cali Excellence for the Future Award for earning the top grade in her Famous Trials course.

During law school, Melisa clerked at the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri in the Pro Se office. After graduation, she was a temporary analyst at Shook Hardy & Bacon. She has also done work for the United States Department of the Interior, Bryan Cave, and Rouse Hendricks German May.
